To help you better understand how UX research methods can be applied, we suggest reading two case studies. They may surprise you with their simplicity which however has proven to be highly effective. They are proof that one does not necessarily have to use expensive research methods. Sometimes it's the simplest, most low-budget research methods that give the best results. User research (1) Case study: Uber Uber realized the importance of user research by conducting field tests with their drivers . For example, they discovered that by setting customer names (who had requested the ride) short and easy for the drivers to remember, it was easier and safer for them to call back the user who had requested the ride.
In fact, by doing so, they could use voice commands. As we see from this short case study, one of the peculiarities of user research is to formulate a hypothesis and acquire information to verify whether this is true or not. In collecting new information, we become aware of aspects and web designs and development service characteristics of the user's behavior that were not previously considered and in doing so we can enhance the performance of the service, improving the UX. A decisive improvement because once you understand the user's ways of behaving you will know exactly.
Where to direct the changes and modifications you wanted to make, using time and money in a functional way. Case study: Buffers Buffer started using user research methods when their website was still in development. A strategic choice since it is much easier to correct the aim when the website is still under construction rather than having to try to save a sinking ship. The Buffer development team created a product landing page by tracking when people signed up to the website via the landing page.
