The QualiBest Institute, a pioneer in online research, was the official sponsor of the Web Summit, the largest technology and innovation event in the world, which took place in early May, for the first time, in Rio de Janeiro. During the four days of the event, QualiBest carried out a face-to-face study with visitors on how new technologies, and especially artificial intelligence, are impacting day-to-day work and business. According to the survey, participants Phone Number List demonstrated that they are prepared for the changes that are occurring in the technology scenario, however, they do not feel as prepared as the companies they work for.

The study was carried out with 567 people, 60% women and 40% men. Furthermore, 7 out of 10 participants were millennials , 3 out of 10 worked in startups, 60% worked for companies, either as employees or registered (CLT/PJ), while 20% were founders or entrepreneurs. Regarding the size of the companies, we considered large companies with revenues above R$20 million, medium-sized companies with revenues above R$4.8 million up to R$20 million, EPP between R$360 thousand and R$4.8 million and micro-enterprises with revenues of up to R$360 thousand. Companies and professionals from the technology and innovation sector were the most present, but representatives from the financial and communication sectors were also present.

According to the survey, those who work in the innovation area of companies declared themselves to be more prepared for technological changes, while those who work in the IT/Tech or commercial areas perceive their companies as more prepared. IT/Tech professionals also evaluated their sector as the most prepared in relation to other areas.

With regard to themes implemented in companies, Artificial Intelligence was the most present theme, followed by virtual reality (VR) and internet of things (IoT). Medium-sized companies are ahead in implementing AI (24% have already implemented it vs 12% in large companies and 14% in EPPs).However, 25% of companies are still not using any AI solutions. Other topics on companies' radars include routine automation, future-focused innovation and talent retention. On the other hand, topics such as privacy and data security, governance and social responsibility are the least discussed in companies. “These results highlight the importance of a balance between technological innovation and ethical and social concerns for a sustainable and successful future in the workplace”, explains Daniela Daud Malouf, managing partner of Instituto QualiBest.

Do participants use Artificial Intelligence?
Regarding the use of artificial intelligence (AI), 85% of participants stated that they use some tool in their daily lives. Among the tools, 78% said they use Chat GPT from Open AI , followed by (19%) Notion IA, Bing (18%), You Chat (10%) and Bert (2%)

When asked about expectations regarding their career and company, the survey showed that people are more optimistic about their own career. While 84% of participants believe that their careers will be better or much better this year than they were the previous year, this rate drops to 60% when asked about the company they work for. “It is curious to see that although participants are more optimistic about their careers, they do not feel as prepared for new technologies as organizations. We can see that they most likely believe that companies will be more affected than individuals”, concludes Daniela.
