Marketing strategies for e-commerce

E-commerce marketing strategies are vital for any online store. An e-commerce has much more to do with a physical store than perhaps you initially imagined. I subdivided this article into 4 items to make it easier to read and explain the reasoning:

The great author and marketing professor Philip Kotler introduced us to the concept of the 4P's, which you may have already heard of. We will not detail the concept here, because it is not the purpose of this article. But I will try to  whatsapp data show you its importance for creating good marketing strategies for e-commerce.

Any company, from any segment, that is successful, has these factors with lesser or greater efficiency: A product that people want to buy. Sold at a competitive price or one that people are willing to pay. Available for purchase when people want to buy it. Advertising so people know you have it all.

Carefully read the sentence above again, stop for a moment and analyze (without judgement) your product.

It's much more common than you might think. And how do I know this?



Because I have worked in the advertising agency service area since 2008, and I have come across, several times, clients who want the “recipe to be successful on social media” or want to discover the “hack” to sell more. Or do they want to know “what do I need to change on my website to sell more?”.

Companies often push the envelope to try to sell or advertise products that are unattractive in the market. Or that they have a very small market (which would not justify an online store). Carry out an impartial analysis, ask different people about your product, but avoid asking friends, as they may want to be polite to you.

An interesting research you can do is to compare the volume of Google searches for your niche market. To do this, use the free Google Trends tool . Just type a term and it will show its popularity and possible correlated terms. It is also possible to compare two or more terms with each other.
